[Applause] feed is more than a football league feed is a charity that runs a football league for people with intellectual impairment I’ve been around since 1991 so we’re our 33rd year obviously feed is about football but it’s way more than just football it football is a vehicle really to provide people with intellectual impairment access to all sorts of supports that you get in a football environment so things like health and well-being access to employment a community around them what we see day in

00:00:35
day out is actually the impact off the field is often greater than the impact on the field it’s more than footy it’s it’s their social outlet for them it’s also belonging in the community uh they’re being seen by everybody else at the football club just to see The Joy on their face when they turn up the train um just playing you know if you win that’s a bonus my number one Focus as a coach is ensuring that the environment and the culture is safe safety is generally driven out of respect so when

00:01:05
we start to really build and drive that message it makes it a lot safer environment and when it’s safer people feel comfortable once you start to feel comfortable you’ll have a lot more fun it was actually a challenge for me to get out to talk to other people so I actually put my boots on go on the field and I actually like loved it we are struggling with all kind of disabilities but if you actually do want to play more courage and actually more get involved with other people around and their

00:01:37
confidence will go up and that’s what we love with everybody I went to watch uh trading well when I did that I I wanted to play I just want to play with my friends theer does make me very happy and uh welcome also great parents that you meet Feer is Shan Caleb that there is something out there for people with a disability my wife and myself are very proud just in his normal life he’s stepping up and that feeder uh leadership he’s come along and he’s just hasn’t stepped back when when the team

00:02:17
comes together with feeder it it’s the behavioral side of things their intellectual disabilities physical disability whatever this player has it all goes out the window cuz they become one they become United and that’s what I love seeing as a parent just watching them grow they’ve come out of their shell a lot of them are very shy when they first turn up to becoming talkative and participating it’s not just development of skill like skill development is fantastic but development

00:02:48
of them as a person and just seeing how they’re improving in their own lives and that’s the most rewarding part and ultimately that’s that’s the victory the FED is about community and what we really want to do is we want to continue to build that community we’re in the heartland of footy we want more people to be able to get out there and play the game that they love to do that we need organizations to get on board to bring their people who want to do some good in their Community to come and get involved

00:03:11
we need more players to come and play in our club feed has been around for 33 years and we need more people to come to the party to keep it around for the next 33
